FISH REPORT 10/22/202

Our apologies for the late posting. We’ve been busy!

We got snow on Monday the 18th and the conditions for the anglers were pretty wild, however, the fish didn’t seem to mind and they were biting. The colder temperatures are bringing the trout up from the deeper waters.

Many 3 and 4 pound rainbows were being reeled in all week.  Garlic power bait in green, rainbow, and yellow colors were big hits.  Inflated night crawlers and pink power worms did well with some anglers.  Trolling at higher depths using a Thomas Buoyant brought in some big rainbows.

Big catches this week include:

  • Robert from Buena Park caught two beauties weighing 2 ½ lbs. and 3 ½ lbs. using night crawlers on North Shore.
  • Jimmy from Camarillo reeled in a whopper weighing 4 ¾ lbs. at the Inlet.
  • Jay from Santa Clarita used a Thomas Buoyant along North Shore and caught a 3 ½ lbs. rainbow.
  • Chad from Lone Pine used a mini jig on North Shore to catch a 3 pounder.
  • Steve, Les, and Ron from Mira Loma had a productive day on the lake reeling in a 3 ½ lbs., 2 ½ lbs., and a 3 ¾ lbs. lunkers on South Shore and North Shore.
  • Nick and Nina from Temecula used green garlic power bait and hooked a 4 ½ lbs. , 21 inch rainbow on South Shore.
  • A family from San Dimas had a fine vacation at the lake catching some big ol’ trout. Garret caught a 4 ½ lbs., Kyle caught a 4 ½ lbs., Mark got a 3 ¾ lbs. and Jake brought in the biggest at 5.1 lbs. They all used a pink power worms in the jetty area.
  • Sherri and Robert from Temecula also had a fine time out on the lake. Sherri caught a 4 ½ lbs. rainbow using orange power bait on North Shore.  Robert caught a 4 ¾ lbs., 21 inch beauty using green garlic power bait on North Shore.
  • Josh sent us a picture of his great 3 lbs. catch out on the lake using a slammer.
  • Lyn and Lonnie from Graeagle, CA brought in two big rainbows each weighing 3 ¼ lbs. by trolling a Red and Gold Thomas Buoyant.

A big storm made its way through over the weekend and into Monday the 25th. We are expecting more cooler temperatures this week.  The marina will remain open until the end of the season on Nov. 15th when the weather conditions permit safe boating.

The campground will close on October 31st.  The resort – the cabins, store and restaurant are open all year.

We have plenty of warm jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, beanies, and socks in the store.  We also have a fine selection of wine and beers.  Come on in the store and get warmed up!
