We’re off to an amazing start for the season, and look forward to another stellar summer!

It was a busy Memorial Day weekend here at Convict Lake. All of our cabins were full, and the campground was packed with happy campers.
The marina stayed busy all weekend with cheerful boaters. The weather was perfect for a relaxing day on the lake. We even squeezed in a wedding!

We have a vast variety of watercraft including, V-Hulls, Avalon Pontoons, NEW Barletta Tri-toons, kayaks, pedal kayaks and paddleboards!

Don’t forget a breakfast burrito from the Aspen Grill before heading down to the lake, or take a break in between catching fish for some delicious lunch.

After a day fishing, stop by our restaurant for some pizza and beer or a fine dining dinner and cocktails! Open 7 days a week

The horses have arrived didn’t horse around getting straight to work on Saturday.

They’re excited for another great horseback riding season.

Lots of joyful anglers have been catching their limits. Between the Resort, Mono County and CDFW, the lake has been stocked with over 2,000lbs of trout so far this season.

The fish haven’t been fin-icky! Powerbait, Kastmasters, mini jigs, Thomas Buoyants, mice tails, and nightcrawlers have all been successful.
All of which are sold in our General Store. Don’t forget, we also sell fishing licenses.

The Round Up at the Lake Derby is still in full swing until June 14! Be the 150th person to signup, and get in for FREE. One cash prize tagged fish was caught over the weekend.

After you’ve signed up, all you have to do is catch at least a 14-inch fish and be entered into a raffle to win Resort prizes.

All catches must be validated at the General Store.

The fishing season has come to a close and we want to thank all of you for coming and seeing us, and throwing your line in the lake and creek.  We already have great plans to make next year a great experience for you.

The last week had wonderful fall weather for those who ventured out to the lake. Many of the end-of-the-season anglers scored some big ones.

Night crawlers, garlic power bait and the Red and Gold Thomas Buoyant were still the favorites.

Big catches this week include:

  • Jaime and Luis from La Verne had a fine day catching 3 beauties weighing 4 ¼ lbs., 3 ½ lbs., and 3 ¼ lbs. using night crawlers on South Shore.
  • Carl and Jeremy pulled in 2 whoppers weighing 5 ¾ lbs., and 4 ¾ lbs. on South Shore using salmon power bait and night crawlers.
  • Josh from Loma Linda and his two little helpers used a Thomas Buoyant to snag a 5 ¼ lbs. rainbow on South Shore.
  • Carl from Montana was using a night crawler by the handicap assessable pier and caught a 5 lbs. monster.
  • Charles from Fullerton used salmon peach power bait on North Shore and caught a 3 ¾ lbs. beauty.

Remember, just because our lake is closed, there are many options nearby for winter fishing.  So, come on up and see us.  Our cabins, store, and restaurant are open year-round.

Until next April 30, 2022

Fish On,

Convict Lake Resort

In honor of Veterans Day, we want to thank all of you who have served our country. We appreciate all that you have done and continue to do.  You are the best of the best!

Fish are definitely coming up from the deeper water. South Shore around the picnic area has been a hot spot, as well as, North Shore around the old Hangman’s Tree.

Night crawlers, pinched crawlers, garlic power bait in various colors continue to be the baits pulling in the big ones.

  • James from Alpine was at the Inlet and caught a nice 1 lbs. trout on garlic power bait.

  • Ron from Santa Clarita brought in a 2 ½ lbs. rainbow using orange power eggs on South Shore by the picnic area.

  • Greg pulled in a whopper at 4 ¾ lbs. on a night crawler on South Shore.

  • John and Mark from San Diego had a total of 18 lbs. of rainbows. They were definitely excited about their 4 ½ lbs., 5 lbs., and 3 ¾ lbs. lunkers caught on garlic power bait on North Shore.
