FISH REPORT JUNE 30 2021

FISH REPORT

JUNE 30, 2021

The hot weather, full moon, and the afternoon thunderstorms made fishing a bit tricky this week. Despite all of this, many people caught their limits. Going down deep  (7 or 8 colors if trolling)  and using garlic power bait and inflated night crawlers worked best.

Department of Fish and Wildlife stocked the lake this week and we also put in 500 pounds of lunkers from Desert Springs Trout Farm in Oregon. There should be big catches coming out for the holiday weekend.

We are excited to let you know we have added a 2020 16ft Avalon Pontoon to our rental fleet. Call us to reserve it.

JULY 3rd is a FREE FISHING DAY FOR THE WHOLE STATE OF CALIFORNIA!

No fishing license is required for that day.  For those who want to try out fishing, or want to take the kids fishing, this is the perfect day to do it.  We have many rod and reel combos in the store to purchase and the staff will help you get all the tackle you need to make it a fun day on the lake.

Some of the big catches this week were:

  • Nicholas from Rancho Cucamonga caught the biggest beauty at 7 ¾ lbs. at the Inlet on an inflated night crawler. What a catch!
  • George from Ladera Ranch caught a big 4 lbs. rainbow on South Shore on power bait.
  • Ken and Ross from Palmdale pulled in a rainbow weighing 3 ¼ lbs. by the Old Hangman’s Tree on the North Shore.
  • The Faught family had another successful camping & fishing trip. Parker enjoyed his first fishing trip with grandpa.

The weather is looking more favorable this coming week.  There is less than 20% chance of precipitation and they are calling for mostly sunny days with highs around 79 degrees and lows around 50 degrees.  This is a welcome relief from all the scorching temperatures around the state.

Please come on up and celebrate the 4th of July with us!
